Our Perspective

The ocean has always shaped life along its shores. It has influenced where people settle, how communities adapt, and the rich variety of life found along the coast. Throughout history, people have learned to live with the sea through observation, ingenuity, and respect for the natural world.

CABALLITOS explores those connections through design, drawing inspiration from coastal traditions, marine life, and the places where land and sea meet.

The Inspiration

The name CABALLITOS comes from the Caballito de Totora, a traditional reed watercraft used along Peru's northern coast for thousands of years. To us, it represents far more than a historic vessel. It symbolizes the ingenuity, craftsmanship, and resourcefulness that grow from understanding the natural world and living in rhythm with the sea.

Our Compass

CABALLITOS exists to explore coastal life through design, history, and storytelling. We seek to deepen our appreciation for the sea by celebrating the people, places, and living systems that have always been shaped by it.
