Fit, Fabric & Feel

Fabric weight, fit, color, texture, and construction can all affect how a design looks and feels when worn. Some graphics work particularly well on a heavier, more structured cotton shirt, while others are better suited to a softer or lighter fabric.

Rather than using a single garment across the entire collection, we select the shirt that we think works best with each design.

We wear, wash, and dry the garments we use so we can evaluate them beyond the manufacturer's specifications. The observations below are based on our own experience with each shirt.

AS Colour 5026 Classic Tee

AS Colour classifies the 5026 Classic Tee as a regular-fit, heavyweight T-shirt. It is made from 6.5 oz. 100% combed cotton and features neck ribbing, side-seam construction, shoulder-to-shoulder taping, and double-needle hems. The fabric is preshrunk to help minimize shrinkage.

Our take: We found the 5026 to have a clean, relatively close fit without feeling tapered. The body falls straight rather than boxy, and the sleeves sit closer to the arms without flaring outward. At 6.5 oz., the additional weight is noticeable and gives the shirt a substantial, structured feel.

Next Level 6010

Next Level classifies the 6010 as a regular-fit, lightweight T-shirt. It is made from 4.3 oz. tri-blend jersey, a blend of 50% polyester, 25% combed ring-spun cotton, and 25% rayon.

Our take: Silky and smooth are accurate descriptions of the 6010. It is very lightweight, soft, and comfortable, with a close, modern fit similar to the 3600 and 6210.

Next Level 6210 CVC

Next Level classifies the 6210 CVC as a regular-fit, lightweight T-shirt made from 4.3 oz. CVC jersey, a blend of 60% combed ring-spun cotton and 40% polyester. It has a crew neck and 32-singles construction.

Our take: We found the 6210 to have a close, modern fit. The fabric is lightweight and comfortable. In our experience, the cotton/polyester blend holds up well through regular washing and drying, with minimal shrinkage. Overall, we think the 6210 strikes a good balance between comfort and durability.

Comfort Colors 3023CL Heavyweight Women’s Boxy T-Shirt

Comfort Colors describes the 3023CL as a boxy-fit, mid-length T-shirt made from 100% soft ring-spun U.S. cotton. The garment-dyed fabric gives it a soft, lived-in feel and is designed for minimal shrinkage.

Our take: The 3023CL has the look of a crop top without being overly short. We found the mid-length cut comfortable and flattering, with a relaxed, casual fit.

Comfort Colors 1717 Heavyweight Adult Tee

Comfort Colors describes the 1717 as a relaxed-fit, heavyweight T-shirt made from 6.1 oz. 100% ring-spun U.S. cotton. The garment-dyed fabric gives it a soft, lived-in feel and is designed for minimal shrinkage.

Our take: We found the 1717 comfortable and relaxed without feeling overly loose or boxy. The garment-dyed fabric has a worn, vintage look, and the shirt holds up well through regular washing and drying.

Next Level 3600

Next Level classifies the 3600 as a regular-fit, lightweight T-shirt made from 4.3 oz. 100% combed ring-spun cotton jersey. It has a crew neck and 32-singles construction; Heather Grey contains 10% polyester.

Our take: The 3600 feels soft, lightweight, and noticeably closer-fitting, especially after washing and drying. It follows the body more than a heavier tee, making it a good choice for customers who prefer a lighter shirt with a closer silhouette.
